1. About These Terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the WSA website, accounts, memberships, educational materials and services.

“The World School Atelier”, “WSA”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Urisha Maharaj, sole proprietor, trading as The World School Atelier. “You” and “your” mean the customer or account holder.

By creating an account, purchasing or using a WSA service, you agree to these Terms and the WSA Refund & Cancellation Policy.

2. What WSA Provides

World School Atelier Membership

The full WSA education system includes The Atelier and The Atlas, personalised Journeys, the Atelier Guide, Atlas Guide and Parent Guide, a Journal and learning record, the Weekly Parent Update, and progression, mastery and academic mapping where relevant. Membership is priced per child: a base price for the first child plus a set amount for each additional child, as shown before purchase.

The Atlas

The Atlas is a standalone place- and world-led membership. It includes place and country studies, fieldwork, Atlas Stories, the Atlas Guide, Atlas Journal and saved collections. It does not include The Atelier or the full WSA member education system.

The Journey

The Journey is a bespoke, one-off intellectual and educational journey design. It is not a subscription. WSA does not book flights, hotels, restaurants, transport or other travel logistics, and all third-party travel costs are excluded.

Specific inclusions, timing and delivery arrangements shown before purchase or agreed in writing form part of the service description.

3. Educational Scope

WSA provides educational resources, experiences and guidance. It is not a school, accreditation body, travel agency, childcare provider, medical service or substitute for professional advice.

WSA does not guarantee a particular academic, developmental, examination, admissions or career outcome. Parents and caregivers remain responsible for suitability, supervision and compliance with any education requirements that apply to their family.

4. Eligibility and Accounts

WSA services are purchased by adults. A purchasing parent, guardian or caregiver confirms that they are authorised to provide information and make decisions for each child included in the account.

You must provide accurate information, keep sign-in details secure, limit paid access to the permitted household, and tell WSA promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. WSA may suspend access for fraud, misuse, unauthorised sharing or material breach of these Terms.

5. Products, Prices and Currency

WSA prices are currently displayed in United States dollars (USD). The exact price, billing frequency and inclusions are shown before purchase.

  • The Atelier: from $400 per month for one child, plus $360 per month for each additional child. Includes full access to The Atlas.
  • The Atlas: from $185 per month for one child, plus $165 per month for each additional child.
  • Annual billing: where offered, 11 times the monthly family price, charged once a year.
  • The Journey: from $3,500 per trip, family-based and quoted individually; larger or more complex Journeys are custom quoted.

Founding Family pricing is available only by invitation or selection and is not a general public purchase right. WSA may change prices for future purchases or renewal periods, with advance notice where required by law.

6. Payment

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers made available by WSA. Recurring memberships are intended to be processed through PayPal where available. A payment option is available only when it is shown as active at checkout.

You are responsible for using an authorised payment method and providing accurate information. Payment processing is subject to the provider’s terms, availability, security checks and supported locations. WSA does not receive or store full card details when they are handled directly by a payment provider.

7. Delivery and Performance

WSA is a digital, online and service-based business. No physical products are currently part of the standard WSA offer.

  • World School Atelier Membership access begins after successful payment confirmation and completion or claim of the WSA account where required.
  • The Atlas access follows the entitlement purchased and begins after successful payment confirmation and account completion where required.
  • The Journey scope, timing and delivery are agreed with the customer before work begins.

If WSA cannot provide a purchased service as agreed, WSA will contact the customer and provide any remedy required by applicable law.

8. International Availability

WSA is offered to customers internationally, subject to payment availability, sanctions, applicable law and any geographic restrictions stated before purchase. Customers remain responsible for laws that apply in their country of residence.

9. Subscriptions

Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Renewal occurs at the applicable billing interval shown before purchase.

You may cancel through your WSA account where available or by emailing theworldschoolatelier@gmail.com. Cancellation stops future renewals, and access normally continues until the end of the paid period. There is no minimum term unless one is clearly stated at purchase.

10. Cancellation and Refunds

To cancel, use the cancellation option in your WSA account where available or email theworldschoolatelier@gmail.com with your account email and subscription or order details.

Refunds and statutory cooling-off rights are governed by the Refund & Cancellation Policy. Nothing in these Terms limits a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Intellectual Property and Permitted Use

WSA content, educational frameworks, writing, visuals, software and related materials belong to Urisha Maharaj trading as The World School Atelier, or are used with permission. Purchasing access does not transfer ownership.

You may use purchased materials for personal and family educational use within the permissions attached to the service. You may not resell, publicly redistribute, commercially exploit, remove ownership notices from, or share restricted content outside the permitted household.

12. Customer Content and Privacy

You remain responsible for content you upload and confirm that you have the right to provide it. You give WSA only the rights reasonably necessary to operate, secure and support the service.

WSA handles personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable law, including POPIA where applicable. Children’s identifiable content is not used for public marketing without appropriate permission or another lawful basis.

13. Safe and Lawful Use

You must not use WSA unlawfully, infringe another person’s rights, attempt unauthorised access, distribute malicious software, circumvent payment controls or harm another person.

Parents and responsible adults must assess and supervise activities involving physical movement, tools, cooking, water, outdoor environments, travel, animals, equipment or other potential hazards.

14. Third-Party Services

WSA may link to third-party resources, places, organisations and service providers. WSA does not control their availability, conduct, terms or services. A purchase made directly from a third party is a contract between you and that third party.

15. Availability

WSA uses reasonable efforts to maintain its online services but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, internet failures, security incidents, hosting or payment-provider disruption, and events outside WSA’s reasonable control may affect availability.

16. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WSA is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of the services. WSA’s total liability relating to a particular purchase will not exceed the amount paid for that service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act, ECTA, POPIA or other applicable law.

17. Governing Law and Complaints

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Mandatory rights to approach a competent tribunal, regulator, ombud or court remain unaffected.

Questions or complaints may be sent to theworldschoolatelier@gmail.com. WSA will make reasonable efforts to respond promptly.

18. Changes and Entire Agreement

WSA may update these Terms by publishing a revised version and date. Material changes affecting an existing customer will be communicated where required by law.

These Terms, the applicable service description, the Refund & Cancellation Policy and the Privacy Policy form the agreement concerning the relevant service. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
