The model
An Interest Pathway is the structured route by which a single interest opens into multiple fields of knowledge and continues to deepen over years rather than weeks.
Its role
It is what separates WSA from a theme of the week. A theme ends. A pathway keeps going, becoming more demanding as the child becomes more capable.
Relationships
Pathways are created by Follow the Interest, run through the Worlds, are made concrete by Explorations, and are tracked as progression and mastery.
In practice
Volcanoes at four is heat, shape and story. At eleven it is plate tectonics and hazard mapping. At seventeen it is risk modelling, insurance economics and the politics of evacuation.
