The model

Future Capabilities

The twelve future capabilities are the dispositions WSA develops alongside knowledge: curiosity, critical thinking, creative thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration, adaptability, emotional intelligence, systems thinking, digital and AI fluency, entrepreneurial thinking and self-direction.

Its role

What this does in the system.

They are developed through real work in the Worlds, never taught as a separate course, and never offered as a substitute for academic knowledge.

Relationships

How it connects to the rest of the model.

Each World develops particular capabilities most strongly; each Exploration names the ones genuinely in play; mastery is recorded per capability, not per child.

In practice

A concrete example.

Systems thinking is not a lesson. It is what a child is doing when they realise that changing the gear ratio fixes the hill and ruins the flat.
